How to get the most out of the Global Study Abroad Fair 2020 will be holding a global study abroad fair on November 12th, 2020. At the virtual fair, you’ll be able to meet universities, colleges, and other higher education institutions from around the world. Have you got your ticket yet? If not, there’s still time to do so here!

Once you’ve reserved your place, it’s time to start preparing for the fair. You might be wondering, “Why do I need to prepare for the fair? I’m just attending it!” The simple answer is that with just a little bit of preparation, you can ensure that you get the most out of attending the virtual study abroad fair. This will hopefully help you take a step closer to your study abroad dream!

Below are our top 3 tips to help you have a great experience at’s global study abroad fair.

Tip #1. Check technical requirements & recommendations

1. Browser: To access the fair, you will need to use Safari or Google Chrome as your browser – and do update your browser if you’ve been putting it off.

2. Enable JavaScript: The fair is an interactive JavaScript environment. So be sure to enable JavaScript in your browser if it isn’t already. If when entering the fair you get a message to install or update JavaScript, do so then.

3. Wired vs. wireless internet connection: If possible, use a wired internet connection (using an Ethernet cable). A wired connection is generally faster than a wireless network and is less likely to lose connection.

4. Data usage: The fair can use up a substantial amount of data, so we recommend that you connect to the fair via WiFi or broadband instead of mobile data.

5. Video: Check that you can play videos on your device.

6. Audio: Consider using a headset with an attached microphone. A good pair of headset can block out distracting background noise and enable you to listen and speak to university recruiters clearly and comfortably.

Tip #2. Research participating universities & prepare questions

Before the fair, do your research on the participating universities. Read up on the programs offered by the universities and note down any questions you might have.

The fair is an opportunity for you to ask questions to help you make decisions about the schools and programs you might be interested in. The types of questions you may wish to ask university representatives include:

  • Questions based on information from the university’s website or brochure

  • Career prospects after graduation

  • Qualities that the university or school looks for in prospective students

  • International alumni or current students’ study abroad experience

Tip #3. Set your schedule for the fair

Check out the virtual fair agenda and decide which events or webinars you would like to attend. Add the calendar reminders for these events and webinars.

Make a list of the universities that you would like to speak to. You can chat with university representatives or book them in for video meetings.

We will have active recruiters specialized in your region who you can chat with live during certain time windows. Check out the time for your region here and aim to speak to all the universities on your priority list then.

We hope you’ll have a great experience at the Global Study Abroad Fair 2020.
