Students who take the upcoming FutureLearn course ‘Understanding Language: Learning and Teaching’ will be eligible for a scholarship. This four week free online course from University of Southampton and the British Council starts today.
The news follows the success of the British Council’s first English language course on FutureLearn, which attracted over 120,000 people, and led to record figures for engagement and participation.
Understanding Language: Learning and Teaching
This course will provide an insight into some of the latest research and practices in language learning and teaching. Aimed at anyone with an interest in the way language is taught, ‘Understanding Language: Learning and Teaching’ will also investigate the case of English, as the most widely learnt and taught language in the world.
MA in English Language Teaching
This two and half year (5 semesters) masters degree program is offered entirely online to teachers around the world. It offers postgraduate level study in key areas of current theory and practice in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching.
Students who complete more than half of the course steps and all the assessments of the above mentioned FL course will be eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Scholarships will be awarded by the lead academics on the online MA programme, by judging applicants’ personal statements. The scholarship would cover first year fees of 2.5year online programme which costs £7500.
